Leeanda Reddy Leeanda Reddy is recognizable wherever she goes, as a popular face on our South African television screens.

She is well known for her current on screen role as the feisty cop Priya Kumar in the daily SABC soap Isidingo.Her recent film credits include a role opposite Naomi Watts in the international film "Diana"

She is a BA Honours (Drama) graduate from the University of KZN-Durban, with majors in Linguistics and Drama. Leeanda is a versatile performer moving comfortably from dramatic screen actress to comedic stage performer to eloquent MC.

PERFORMANCE

She has featured both on the small screen and big screen but her biggest thrill remains performing in front of a live audience. Comedy is her favourite stage genre and she has received critical acclaim for her recent comedy shows. Leeanda's stage career has seen her perform in major arenas both nationally and internationally. Playing leading roles at the Durban Playhouse Drama, Opera and Loft theatres, Sneddon, Grahamstown, Johannesburg Lyric, Market and Civic theatres, she was also invited by the Indian Council for cultural relations to perform a one woman play “At the Edge” at the International theatre festival in New Delhi and to tour with it in seven other states in India. She has just returned from the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in the UK after performing in a two hander production "Cherry on Top" in August 2013.

She has received various accolades for performance, including the prestigious Mababongwe award for excellence, FNB vitas for best lead actress in "Twelfth night" and "Beyond Calvary", four Durban Theatre Award nominations for "Buckled" -best lead actress, best comedy actress, best script, and best set design.

On screen she has featured in various drama and soap series (Scandal, Zero Tolerance, The Res, Snitch) and commercials and has presented on the trendy magazine programmes; Big City and City life.

Leeanda is also a producer and writer, her work involves writing and producing major stage productions and corporate events as well as writing scripts for TV.
